About

Committed to Play-Based Learning

Bloom Early Learning brings together a community of professionals who are committed to helping children reach their full potential through play-based learning. We are believers in this method of teaching because the science backs it up, but also because over our decades of shared teaching experience we have had a front row seat to watch it in action for thousands of children between us! We have seen the moments when a child makes a connection through a hands-on activity, we have listened to them get excited to tell what they have learned and we have felt the pride of seeing them excel as they learn new skills.

And we know there is sound scientific backing for play-based learning. Play promotes brain development in key areas including language, executive function, math, spatial skills, logic, social skills and science. According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), for successful learning to take place children should be mentally active, engaged, socially interactive, and building meaningful connections. All things that are at the cornerstone of play-based learning!

At Bloom Early Learning, our team wants all children to have the chance to thrive. We truly believe that this happens when the learning activities are fun, creative, and inviting. We understand that it is our job to take those fun, playful moments and offer the scaffolding that provides the opportunity to learn specific, age-appropriate skills that guide each child toward their goals.

Trained and Experienced Staff

Not only does our team share a belief in our program philosophy, we share a commitment to our own ongoing learning and growth. Over the years, we have all gained valuable classroom experience that guides our planning and activities. But we have also all formally participated in trainings on topics ranging from behavior management, recognizing special needs, building fine and gross motor skills, music in the classroom. Literacy building, recognizing learning styles, and so many more! We look forward to continuing our education and training this year so that we can share new techniques with the children at Bloom.

Bloom Early Learning is located at 7604 New Town Road, Waxhaw NC 28173 on the four acre property of Bethel Christian Fellowship.

*Please note that Bloom Early Learning is not affiliated with the church. We are tenants on the property and independent from Bethel Christian Fellowship

What Parents are Saying

Bloom Early Learning officially opened in the summer of 2021, with September 2021 serving as the launch pad for our inaugural school year. Here is what a few of our families have to say about their experience with us!

As an early childhood educator, selecting a program for my own child was made easy when we found Bloom. This is what preschool is supposed to be! Our daughter Ada has thrived in Bloom’s play-based program. The experienced, enthusiastic staff foster a love of learning, curiosity, and discovery that I believe leads to long term school readiness and success. Ada comes home beaming with pride in what she’s created and learned each day. In a field of corporate-feeling preschool environments, Bloom feels like home.

My wife and I feel so fortunate that our family is part of the Bloom Early Learning community. Since enrolling our son in the summer camps and now the preschool program, he has shown significant growth in his confidence, social skills, and independence. Marie and her staff of wonderful teachers do a great job of traditional teaching in the classroom, but they also go beyond that to create an environment where children feel safe, engaged, and encouraged. The communication between teachers and parents is wonderful and we have confidence that our son is having fun and learning every day.

Prior to Bloom’s pilot year, Marie helped us homeschool our 3 and 4 year old daughters, and because of her hard work and dedication towards making learning individualized, our oldest is thriving in Kindergarten. So, without a doubt, we were placing our soon to be four year old, in her program at Bloom. Marie and the teachers at Bloom have created a safe, hands-on, and challenging educational environment for our four year old. She comes home each day with a new fact, story, or song to share with us. The teachers at Bloom differentiate to meet the needs of each individual student and genuinely love each and every one of them. Having our girls at Bloom has made our job as parents easier. To know your kids are happy, having fun, and safe, all while learning, is priceless. They’re definitely lucky to have our little girl, but we’re really the lucky ones to have found Bloom!

My 4-year-old had SO much fun at camp! She is typically shy and since COVID, hasn’t had any preschool experience. She woke up excited to go and couldn’t stop talking about all the fun stuff she did. She’s already asking to go back next summer! The staff is great and they had such fun and age-appropriate activities for the kids. Highly recommend!

Marie and the team at Bloom provide such a playful, loving, intentional, and safe place for my daughter to learn and grow! Her first year at preschool in person we anticipated tears and they were there! However, we knew that she was with people who want the best for her and those tears were quickly replaced with smiles and joyful “hellos” to her Miss Marie and Miss Seema every morning she goes to school. We are fortunate to have two of our daughters graduate from Marie’s exceptional program. They both were ready for Kindergarten not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. It truly takes a village to raise children and we are so lucky to have Marie and the amazing Bloom team to be a part of our village.
